Private Romanian carrier DAN AIR is set for a major expansion this spring, launching six new destinations and introducing a second dedicated aircraft to its scheduled operations starting April 1, 2026.
The expansion targets high-demand markets in Spain, Italy, France, and Cyprus, significantly strengthening the airline’s presence in both the capital, Bucharest, and the regional hub of Bac?u.
DAN AIR will operate these new routes through the peak summer season (April 1 – October 24), focusing on popular leisure and diaspora connections:
From Bucharest (BBU/OTP):
Larnaca: Wednesdays and Sundays (Starts April 1)
Valencia: Mondays and Fridays (Starts April 3)
From Bac?u (BCM):
Madrid & Larnaca: Thursdays and Sundays (Starts April 2)
Valencia: Mondays and Fridays (Starts April 3)
Barcelona, Paris (Beauvais) & Treviso: Tuesdays and Saturdays (Starts April 4)
Additionally, the airline is increasing frequencies to London Luton and Brussels, moving to three flights per week for both destinations from Bac?u.
Following a successful 2025—in which the airline carried 235,000 passengers with an impressive 98% on-time performance—DAN AIR is doubling its active scheduled fleet.
Two-Aircraft Operation: The airline will now deploy two 180-seat aircraft for scheduled service.
Strategic Hubs: With this move, DAN AIR will serve 4 destinations from Bucharest and 12 from Bac?u, further cementing Bac?u Airport’s role as a vital regional gateway for the Moldova region.
CEO Matt Ian David noted that the introduction of a second aircraft is a pivotal step in the airline’s development, stating that the expansion is a direct response to passenger demand for sustainable, direct connectivity to major European cities.
