Romanian carrier DAN AIR will launch scheduled flights from Bucharest to Aleppo starting September 25, 2025. The service will run twice weekly (Thursdays and Sundays) using Airbus A319 aircraft.
The move follows the airline’s June launch of flights to Damascus, becoming the first EU airline to operate direct routes to Syria. This route has already carried over 11,000 passengers, mostly Syrians reconnecting with families. DAN AIR says demand for further connections drove the Aleppo expansion.
The flights were made possible through bilateral agreements between Romania and Syria, with approvals finalised in July and August. CEO Matt Ian David emphasised the airline’s mission to “connect, not isolate,” positioning the new route as a bridge for people, business, and reconstruction.
