On 7 May, Air New Zealand crew and all passengers but one were ready for domestic flight NZ424 between Wellington and Auckland. The passenger, however, refused to watch the important safety video on the Airbus A320 (ZK-OXH). As she “failed to comply” with the crew instructions, she was disallowed to continue her flight and was met by Wellington’s airport police.
“Police were requested to meet a passenger at Wellington Airport today after she failed to comply with crew instructions,” police said.
“The passenger will receive an infringement notice under Civil Aviation Authority rules relating to the use of a cellphone.“
The flight uneventfully continued to Auckland, albeit with a delay of 30 minutes.
