Corendon Dutch Airlines has become the first airline worldwide to introduce The Good Roll bamboo toilet paper on board its aircraft, following a similar move by Corendon Hotels & Resorts. The airline uses around 4.3 million sheets annually, making the shift a meaningful step in its sustainability and social responsibility strategy.
The Good Roll invests 50% of its net profit into building clean toilets and providing hygiene education in Ghana, while also supporting over 1,500 local farmers by purchasing bamboo at fair prices. The partnership aims to improve sanitation access for the 2.3 billion people globally who lack it.
Corendon highlighted the move as part of its broader efforts in Africa, such as building wells in Gambia. A joint social media campaign will promote the initiative, sharing the story of this “toilet revolution” and inspiring wider adoption.
The Good Roll produces plastic-free, fragrance-free, tree-friendly toilet paper made from bamboo and recycled paper, combining sustainability with social impact both in the air and on the ground.
