Désiré Balazire, the general director of Congo Airways specifies that this decision aims to reduce operation costs and to keep employment and most important: keeping the company alive. The national airline has four aircraft: 2 Dash 8-400 and 2 Airbus A320.
This measure could be lifted when the company’s situation is flourishing again.
About 30 employees were dismissed in September 2016, keeping nearly 400 employees across the country. A few months ago Désiré Balazire explained that his company only aims to maintain a staff of two hundred and fifty agents.
