German leisure airline Condor has operated two special repatriation flights bringing around 500 travellers back to Germany from the Middle East on behalf of the German Federal Foreign Office.
The flights departed from Muscat, in Oman, and transported passengers to Frankfurt via Hurghada, Egypt. The first aircraft arrived in Frankfurt on Friday morning, followed by a second flight early Saturday.
Both services were operated using the Airbus A321neo and were coordinated closely with national and international authorities. Passengers eligible for the flights had previously registered with the German Foreign Office, which managed the selection and communication process.
In response to the disruption of travel routes through Middle Eastern hubs, Condor has also been working with tour operators to provide alternative routes for holidaymakers. In recent days, the airline has operated additional direct flights from Malé in the Maldives and from Mauritius to Frankfurt.
These measures are intended to help travellers whose original return journeys relied on connecting flights through the Middle East, offering more direct travel options back to Germany.
According to Condor, the special repatriation flights were organised within a very short timeframe. The airline said close coordination between flight crews, operational teams, engineering and ground handling staff made it possible to carry out the missions efficiently.
The carrier said the operation demonstrated its ability to respond quickly to rapidly evolving situations and to provide travellers with reliable return options when regional travel disruptions occur.
