Condor celebrates the end of an era: Farewell flight and party to the Boeing 757-300

Condor has officially said goodbye to the Boeing 757-300 with an emotional farewell flight and party above the clouds, marking the end of the Boeing era in its fleet. The special round trip from Frankfurt to Vienna and back gathered over 300 guests, including long-time employees, aviation enthusiasts, and partners from politics and business, to celebrate the milestone.

The “highest party in the world” took place onboard the return flight to Frankfurt, symbolising both nostalgia and a forward-looking spirit as Condor transitions to an all-Airbus fleet.

“The Boeing 757 was a symbol of leisure travel at Condor for decades. With its phase-out, a new fleet era begins—one that is quieter, more efficient, and sustainable,” said Christian Schmitt, COO of Condor.

CEO Peter Gerber added:

“Vienna as the destination of the farewell flight highlights its growing importance in our network. We are grateful for the strong partnership with Vienna and Frankfurt airports as we mark this new chapter together.”

To underline its commitment to sustainability, Condor used a 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) blend for the farewell flight—the maximum currently permitted under certification standards.

The partnership between Condor and the Boeing 757 began in 1990 with flights from Frankfurt to Antalya. Over 35 years, Condor operated 33 aircraft of the 757 family, including the rare B757-300, of which only 55 were ever built, and Condor operated a quarter of them.

With this farewell, Condor closes a proud chapter of aviation history and looks to the future with a modern, all-Airbus fleet, continuing its legacy as Germany’s leading leisure airline.
