In a move that blends modern strategy with historic roots, Condor has announced the resumption of regular flights between Frankfurt (FRA) and Tel Aviv (TLV) starting in May 2026.
The timing is particularly symbolic as the airline celebrates its 70th anniversary. Interestingly, Condor’s inaugural flight on March 29, 1956, was a pilgrimage service to the Holy Land, making this return a full-circle moment for Germany’s popular leisure carrier.
Launch Date: May 2026.
Route: Non-stop service from Condor’s primary hub in Frankfurt.
Aircraft: The route will be operated by the Airbus A320, featuring the airline’s standard ergonomic seating and flexible fare structures.
Global Connectivity: The new flights are designed to facilitate easy connections for travellers originating in Europe and North America through the Frankfurt hub.
The announcement has been met with praise beyond the aviation industry. Uwe Becker, the Hessian State Government Commissioner for Jewish Life, highlighted the diplomatic importance of the route, noting that the connection serves as an “additional bridge of understanding” between Germany and Israel.
According to David Carlisle, VP of Network Planning, Tel Aviv is a high-value destination that fits perfectly into the airline’s growing hub-and-spoke model. By linking this culturally and economically vibrant “global city” to its wider network, Condor is positioning itself as a key player for both heritage travel and modern business exchange.
