China Southern Airlines will operate year-round, nonstop flights between Perth and Guangzhou, strengthening air links between Western Australia and China. The service will run three times weekly—on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays—using Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, offering a total of around 85,800 seats annually.
The move follows the success of China Southern’s resumed seasonal flights in November and marks a significant boost for Western Australia’s tourism and broader economy. China is currently WA’s fourth-largest international visitor market, with 65,000 visitors in FY2025 contributing approximately AUD 457 million. Chinese travellers also represent the highest tourism spend, typically staying longer and travelling across multiple regions.
Perth Airport highlighted that the year-round service will support not only tourism but also trade, business, and education links. The announcement also builds on a recently signed Sister Airport agreement between Perth Airport and Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, aimed at improving passenger flows, cargo connectivity, and through-check services.
