China Southern Airlines will increase its Perth–Guangzhou service to daily flights during the 2026/27 northern winter season, providing a significant boost in capacity between Western Australia and China.
The additional frequencies will operate from 1 December 2026 to 10 March 2027, coinciding with the busy Chinese New Year travel period. During the 14-week seasonal expansion, the airline will offer 55,200 seats on the route using its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner fleet.
Perth Airport welcomed the announcement, describing it as a sign of growing confidence in the Western Australian market and a further strengthening of economic and tourism links with China.
Perth Airport Chief Commercial and Aviation Officer Kate Holsgrove said the daily operation would support inbound tourism, business travel, international education, visits by friends and relatives, and trade between Western Australia and China. She added that the increased service reflects the long-standing partnership between Perth Airport and China Southern Airlines, which has connected the two markets for more than 15 years, while also complementing the sister-airport relationship between Perth Airport and Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport.
China Southern Airlines Regional Director of Sales and Marketing William Wang said the additional flights respond to strong seasonal demand and will further strengthen direct connectivity between Western Australia and China. He also highlighted China’s 30-day visa-free entry policy for Australian passport holders, making travel for business and leisure more convenient.
Beyond Guangzhou, the expanded schedule will provide passengers with improved onward connections across China Southern’s extensive network, including destinations in Europe, Japan, South Asia and other international markets.
The airline will operate the route seven times per week with its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner throughout the seasonal increase.
