On 9 September 2025, the first C909 medical rescue aircraft was officially delivered to China Flying Dragon General Aviation in Zhengzhou, Henan Province, marking a significant step in the development of China’s homegrown commercial aircraft. The aircraft will be deployed for emergency rescue, telemedicine, and critical care transfer missions.
Key features of the C909 medical rescue aircraft:
As China’s first CAAC-approved general aviation company, China Flying Dragon General Aviation—part of Zhongyu Aviation Group—has extensive experience in emergency rescue, law enforcement flights, aerial surveying, and short-haul transport. The operator plans to leverage this expertise to build a nationwide aviation medical rescue network, while also expanding air medical services along the Belt and Road Initiative, aiming for a model of domestic base, regional reach, and international extension.
The introduction of the C909 into service is expected to strengthen China’s air medical support system, offering faster response times, broader coverage, and higher efficiency in emergency situations.
