China Eastern Airlines has announced plans to purchase 25 Airbus A330neo widebody aircraft in a deal valued at approximately $9.35 billion at list prices. The aircraft will be delivered progressively between 2029 and 2033 under an agreement signed in Shanghai.
The airline noted that the actual price paid will be lower than Airbus’s January 2025 catalogue prices, reflecting customary industry discounts. The new aircraft will support China Eastern’s strategy to expand its international network, particularly by adding more long-haul services from Shanghai Pudong Airport.
The order marks a significant investment in fleet growth as the carrier seeks to strengthen its presence on international routes in the coming decade.
