China Eastern Airlines inaugurated its new direct service between Shanghai and Zurich Airport on 18 June 2026, with the airline’s first flight arriving in Zurich at 07:49.
The new route operates three times weekly, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. Flights depart Zurich at 14:05 and arrive in Shanghai the following morning, while return services leave Shanghai shortly before 02:00 and land in Zurich at 07:55.
Shanghai is currently the only destination in mainland China served nonstop from Zurich. The addition of China Eastern’s flights increases capacity and choice on a route that is also operated by Swiss International Air Lines.
The new service further strengthens air links between Switzerland and one of Asia’s most important economic and commercial centres, supporting both business and leisure travel while enhancing connectivity between the two countries.
