The Chalair airline company announced the opening of a new scheduled service to and from BORDEAUX at a press conference organised today.
Chalair thus brings travel times between Bordeaux and Caen down to under 1 hour 20 minutes, making precious time savings for business travellers and offering a link between two key French regions for tourism.
Caen becomes the 4th destination served from Bordeaux by the Normandy-based company, after Rennes, Brest and Montpellier.
- From Tuesday 15 March 2016: BORDEAUX / CAEN – 3 rotations per week
The service will be operated in a 19-seater Beechcraft 1900 aircraft.
Tickets for the flights are now on sale. Bookings can be made in travel agencies, at airport desks and on the www.chalair.fr and www.airfrance.com ticketing websites.

Chalair to connect Caen to Antwerp
Chalair Aviation in the coming weeks will also open a new routes from Caen to Antwerp in Belgium.
Chalair will inaugurate on April 4 a new connection without competition from Caen to Antwerp, which according to the statement of the Norman airport “also presents a unique business attraction towards one of the major European ports, also with quick access to Brussels Rotterdam and Eindhoven, but also in Bruges, Venice of the North“. But times are not yet available this Thursday morning.
Michel Collin, Chairman of Airport Caen-Normandy, welcomes these announcements, “Chalair Aviation chose Caen Carpiquet airport to develop two routes with high economic potential: Bordeaux and Antwerp. The Caen Carpiquet airport thus consolidates its site in Normandy and its leading role in the economic development of the territory.” This route will be offered at 257 euros return.
Launched in 1986, Chalair is an independent company, partner in the Air France-KLM loyalty program Flying Blue. Mileage accrual is possible on all its flights that are booked on its own site or via the Franco-Dutch group. Besides the already mentioned airports, it serves Limoges and Lyon all year, and in high season it also serves Ajaccio, Bastia, Nice and Perpignan.
