On June 16, Cathay Pacific inaugurated its first direct flights between Hong Kong and Munich, marking a significant step in the airline’s European expansion. The new route adds to recent launches to Rome (June 5) and an upcoming return to Brussels (August 3).
Operating four times a week with Airbus A350-900 aircraft, the Munich route enhances Cathay’s European footprint, with the airline set to run nearly 100 return flights per week to 12 European cities this summer. Including new additions by HK Express, the Cathay Group will serve 100 global destinations in 2025, adding 18 new routes this year alone.
The move strengthens Hong Kong’s role as a global aviation hub and provides greater connectivity between Europe, Hong Kong, and mainland China through Cathay’s codeshare network.
