The Cathay Group achieved a major milestone on December 15, 2024, carrying 100,856 passengers in a single day—its highest since beginning a two-year rebuilding effort. The group repeated this success on eight separate days during the 2024 holiday travel peak.
CEO Ronald Lam praised staff dedication and announced Cathay’s readiness to enter a new growth phase. Having restored 100% of pre-pandemic flight capacity, Cathay Pacific and HK Express will serve 100 destinations globally by the end of 2025, including new routes to India, the US, Europe, and Japan.
As Hong Kong’s aviation enters a new era with its Three-Runway System, Cathay remains committed to strengthening the city’s status as a global travel hub.
