The Cathay Group posted another strong month in August 2025, carrying an average of more than 110,000 passengers per day during the summer peak. Cathay Pacific traffic rose 30% year-on-year, with ASKs up 32%, while HK Express reported a 36% increase in passengers. Cargo volumes also climbed 13% compared to August 2024, driven by strong Americas demand and lithium battery shipments to Oceania.
Highlights included the resumption of Cathay Pacific’s Brussels service, load factors above 85%, and the reopening of its redesigned Beijing Capital lounge. The Group also confirmed new Seattle flights from March 2026, and Riyadh and Dallas-Fort Worth services going daily this winter. On the cargo side, Cathay will launch a new weekly Madrid freighter from 13 October.
