Cathay Cargo is expanding its freighter operations through a new Airbus A330P2F lease agreement signed by Air Hong Kong, reinforcing Hong Kong’s position as a global air cargo hub.
The newly leased converted freighter will be operated by Air Hong Kong, which is part of the Cathay Group and the city’s first all-cargo airline. The aircraft will primarily serve routes to mainland China and other regional destinations, adding additional capacity for Cathay Cargo customers amid continued demand growth.
The move follows Cathay Group’s recent order for two Airbus A350F freighters and forms part of a broader fleet expansion strategy aimed at scaling cargo operations and improving network flexibility across Asia.
Together, these investments strengthen Cathay’s long-term positioning in the highly competitive air freight market and further consolidate Hong Kong as the world’s busiest air cargo hub.
