Passengers of a British Airways aeroplane at the Paris Charles de Gaulle airport have been evacuated for a “security threat”. Flight BA303 was about to leave to London Heathrow, at around 7:30 am.

According to eyewitnesses, passengers are thoroughly checked by the police, and luggage is also inspected with the help of sniffing dogs. There are dozens of policemen and several fire trucks around the aeroplane, an Airbus A320 registered G-EUYC. On social media, unconfirmed rumours mention that an individual made a “direct threat” to the aircraft.

The pilot initially mentioned technical problems. After more than one hour, passengers were allowed to board the plane again. At around 12:10, a British Airways spokeswoman confirmed the flight had taken off with a delay of close to 5 hours.
