Channel Islands carrier Blue Islands has launched a new direct service between Guernsey/Jersey and Newcastle, with up to three weekly flights running throughout the summer season.
To celebrate the inaugural flight, Newcastle Airport welcomed the Blue Islands crew and aircraft with a special event marking the start of this strategic route linking the Channel Islands to the North East of England.
“Direct connectivity is vital for our communities,” said Rob Veron, CEO of Blue Islands. “This new Newcastle service not only offers convenient access to and from Guernsey and Jersey, but also supports inbound tourism to our beautiful islands.”
The Newcastle route is one of two new destinations for Blue Islands in 2025, with Paris flights set to begin on 22 May. These join the airline’s established summer services to Dublin and Norwich, alongside its year-round core network via hubs like Southampton.
To celebrate the route launch, Blue Islands is offering 10% off all seats booked by Sunday, 11 May, with fares starting from £82.99 one-way, including hold luggage.
