On 8 May, a Biman Bangladesh Airlines Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 (S2-AGQ) operated flight BG60 between Dhaka, Bangladesh and Yangon, Myanmar skidded off the left side of the runway while landing on runway 21 at Yangon. The aircraft received severe structural damage but no fatalities have been reported. Around 15 passengers and at least one crew member were taken to hospital with injuries. At the moment of approach, thunderstorms were reported around the field.
