Emirates and Batik Air Malaysia have announced a new codeshare agreement, expanding travel options for passengers to Southeast Asia. Under this partnership, Emirates customers can access 5 domestic Malaysian cities and 3 regional South East Asia points operated by Batik Air through Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).

This agreement was welcomed by the Malaysian Minister of Transport, highlighting its potential to strengthen Malaysia’s role as a regional gateway.

Emirates will place its code on Batik Air-operated flights to various destinations, offering travellers a seamless experience with a single ticket and convenient baggage policy. Passengers will also have the option to stop in Kuala Lumpur before reaching their final destinations.

The partnership aims to provide enhanced connectivity and more options for passengers, ultimately expanding both airlines’ network reach. This collaboration underscores Batik Air’s commitment to offering flexibility and convenience to passengers. Emirates has been serving Malaysia since 1996 and operates 21 weekly flights to Kuala Lumpur, utilising Boeing 777 and Airbus A380 aircraft.

Tickets for travel commencing from November 1, 2023, can be booked through various channels, including the Emirates website, online travel agencies, and travel agents.
