AerCap has delivered the first of three Airbus A321neo aircraft to Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), marking the introduction of the type into the carrier’s fleet. The handover took place at Airbus’s delivery centre in Hamburg.
The delivery is part of a broader 2024 leasing agreement covering three A321neo and three A320neo aircraft. AZAL has already received two A320neo jets earlier this year, with the remaining aircraft scheduled for delivery through November 2026.
Both AerCap and AZAL highlighted the strategic importance of the deal for fleet modernisation and expansion. The new-generation Airbus aircraft are expected to improve fuel efficiency, support network growth, and enhance passenger comfort as the airline continues to upgrade its operations.
