On 22 November, an Avior Airlines Boeing 737-400 (YV3012) operated flight 9V1400 between Valencia, Venezuela and Bogota, Colombia. During touch-down at the Colombian airport (or just after landing), the aircraft’s right main landing gear collapsed.
A pilot of a nearby Avianca aircraft reported some flames, rescue services approached the aircraft to foam the landing gear to avoid further flames. Passengers were bussed to the terminal building, other passengers were treated by medical services after panic arouse on board. A fuel spill was spotted, hence the airport authorities decided to close down the Northerly runway, seriously reducing the capacity of the airport.
