Maastricht Aachen Airport (MST) has strengthened its cargo network with the arrival of Colombian carrier Avianca Cargo, which will operate two weekly Airbus A330 flights linking Latin America and Europe.

The new service, launching this month, connects Quito, Miami, Maastricht and Zaragoza, with southbound flights exporting European fashion goods and northbound flights importing flowers from South America. Each aircraft offers a payload capacity of 61 tons.

The addition of Avianca Cargo supports MST’s 25% year-on-year cargo growth in the first eight months of 2025, driven by expanded operations from Turkish Cargo and Emirates SkyCargo, and new services from My Freighter and Ethiopian Cargo.

“We are proud that, after My Freighter, Avianca Cargo has now also chosen Maastricht Aachen Airport,” said Dean Boljuncic, Head of Commercial Development at MST. “With every new route, we increase the international connectivity of our airport.”

Avianca Cargo’s María Ximena Marín Morales highlighted Maastricht’s role as a strategic European hub and expressed confidence in the long-term potential of the partnership.
