On 11 November 2019, Astra Airlines, a small Greek airline, has cancelled many flights due to financial difficulties.
As related by Capital.gr, many flights had to be cancelled today due to “operational reasons”. The airline has already disabled its booking system on airline’s website.
Astra Airlines’ revenues come mostly from PSO routes subsidised by the Greek Government.
“The company would like to inform the public that with regards to the recently cancelled flights, requests for compensation for passengers will be examined and answered by 15-11-2019. We apologise for the inconvenience caused and are working for the smooth and orderly continuation of our flights.”
Astra Airlines has until Wednesday 13 November to find an investor.
