Strengthening Budapest Airport’s Far East network, the Hungarian gateway welcomes Asiana Airlines’ direct service to Seoul.

Budapest Airport has expanded its long-haul network with the arrival of Asiana Airlines, which launched a new twice-weekly direct service to Seoul on April 3, 2026.

The new route complements existing services by Korean Air, bringing total capacity to more than 2,000 weekly seats and establishing daily non-stop connectivity between the Hungarian and South Korean capitals. The 8,134 km route is expected to boost both business and leisure travel, while strengthening trade and cultural ties.

Budapest Airport highlighted South Korea as its third-largest long-haul market, with strong demand reflected in high load factors on existing flights. The addition of Asiana further enhances connectivity to Asia, where the airport now serves eight destinations, including Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenzhen.

For Asiana Airlines, Budapest becomes its ninth European destination, reinforcing its strategy of expanding connections to key European gateways and strengthening links between Asia and Central Europe.
