ANA All Nippon Airways goes double daily Narita – Los Angeles

ANA, Japan’s largest airline, has announced its flight schedule for the second half of 2017, optimized to give passengers more choices and connection opportunities.

In the second half of the fiscal year, ANA will further improve its international network, such as doubling the number of flights between Narita and Los Angeles to two per day, as the carrier announced on June 28, 2017. This new international flight schedule will help to boost the international competitiveness of Japan in the business and tourism markets.

In the first half of this fiscal year, ANA refined its flight schedule to best utilize the respective characteristics of Narita and Haneda Airports as part of the airline’s Dual Hub Model for the Tokyo metropolitan area. The strategy looks to satisfy growing passenger demand for both Japan inbound and outbound international flights, as well as consistently increasing demand for connections via Japan between North America and the Asian continent. For example, harnessing late night and early-morning slots at Haneda Airport allowed ANA to operate additional flights between Haneda and Jakarta, improving access between Japan, Indonesia and North America.

ANA is also working to create a more robust and comprehensive Japan domestic flight network by optimizing the number of flights on each route and flexibly adjusting the type of aircraft to correspond with demand trends and the competitive environment.

Furthermore, ANA remains committed to continuously deploying state-of-the-art aircraft to provide superior in-flight comfort and increased convenience for our passengers.

Below are the details about ANA’s latest schedule and frequency for our international, domestic and dedicated cargo routes.

International Routes

Starting October 29, 2017 (Sunday Japan Standard Time), ANA will double the number of flights on the Narita to Los Angeles route to two per day in response to very strong demand from Japan and the Asian continent. Combined with its existing Los Angeles service from Haneda, ANA will now offer three daily round trips between the Tokyo metropolitan area and Los Angeles, which will not only give passengers even more choice, it will also improve the competitiveness of Narita as a transit point for passengers travelling between North America and the Asian continent – a market that is continually growing.

Cargo Routes

ANA has maintained its “Okinawa Cargo Hub” for dedicated cargo freighters since 2009, and the airline will continue to position Naha Airport as an important transit point for cargo moving between airports in Japan and major cities on the Asian continent. ANA will streamline its network of cargo flights by suspending late-night cargo flights on Saturdays after midnight (technically Sunday morning flights), when urgent demand via the Okinawa cargo hub is off peak. The airline is also reorganizing cargo services to Xiamen and Qingdao in accordance with the supply demand balance.
