ANA Holdings has approved the purchase of eight additional Embraer E190-E2 aircraft, expanding its previous order for the next-generation regional jet as it continues to strengthen Japan’s domestic aviation network.
The new order builds on ANA’s 2025 commitment for 20 E190-E2s—comprising 15 firm orders and five options—and will support the expansion of the airline’s ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance and Insurance) agreement for ANA-operated flights.
Configured in the 100-seat category, the Embraer E190-E2 features the latest-generation engines and technologies, offering improved fuel efficiency, lower noise emissions and reduced operating costs. ANA says the aircraft will provide greater flexibility in matching capacity to demand on domestic routes over the medium and long term.
ANA Holdings President and CEO Koji Shibata said the additional order will accelerate the group’s efforts to build a sustainable regional aviation network across Japan while deepening its partnership with Embraer. He added that the aircraft will enhance regional connectivity and improve the passenger experience.
The latest order reinforces ANA’s strategy of modernising its domestic fleet with more efficient aircraft while supporting long-term regional connectivity and operational sustainability.
