Alaska Airlines is expanding its transatlantic market with new daily nonstop service between Seattle and London Heathrow, set to begin May 21, 2026. Tickets are now on sale, with introductory round-trip fares starting at $699.
The route will be operated year-round using Alaska’s newly upgraded Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, featuring lie-flat suites and an enhanced long-haul service concept. Heathrow will become the carrier’s fifth intercontinental destination from Seattle, following recent expansions to Rome and Reykjavik.
The launch is closely tied to Alaska’s push to grow its global footprint and strengthen its partnership with American Airlines and British Airways through the oneworld alliance. Flights will operate from Heathrow Terminal 3, enabling smooth onward connections across Europe and beyond.
Alaska also highlighted new benefits within its Atmos Rewards loyalty program. Members earn one point and one status point per mile on intercontinental flights, while Titanium members will receive complimentary day-of-departure lie-flat upgrades on long-haul routes starting next spring. The carrier is also promoting its new Atmos Rewards Summit Visa Infinite card, which accelerates status earning and includes a 25,000-point Global Companion Award annually.
The schedule is tailored for business travellers, offering late-evening eastbound departures and afternoon returns that allow nearly full days on the ground in both cities. Alaska says the move positions its Seattle hub for significant international growth as it prepares to compete more directly in the long-haul space.
