Latvian airline airBaltic reaches 1500 employee mark

Riga. Latvian airline airBaltic welcomed its 1 500th employee this week. The newest member of the airBaltic team will be working as a technician taking care of aircraft technical maintenance.

Martin Gauss, Chief Executive Officer of airBaltic: ”We are delighted to announce that we have reached our highest employee mark in the 23-year history of the airline. I am proud to work with a strong, dedicated team of 1 500 professionals.”

With the fleet modernization and further growth under the business plan Destination 2025 our operations will grow and naturally we will continue to seek more talented and motivated individuals for our team,” Martin Gauss adds.

The Latvian airline airBaltic is planning to recruit over 1 000 highly educated professionals over the next few years, especially those working as cabin crew, pilots and technicians. In 2017 alone airBaltic has employed 400 new professionals.

airBaltic serves over 70 destinations from Riga, Tallinn and Vilnius, offering the largest variety of destinations and convenient connections via Riga to its network spanning Europe, Scandinavia, the CIS and the Middle East. For summer 2018, airBaltic has introduced eight new destinations from Riga to Malaga, Lisbon, Split, Bordeaux, Gdansk, Almaty as well as Sochi and Kaliningrad. In addition, airBaltic launched a new direct route connecting Tallinn and London.
