airBaltic has announced a significant expansion of its network for the 2026/2027 winter season, adding 12 new routes and strengthening its presence across leisure and winter sports destinations.
The airline will grow its seasonal operations in the Canary Islands by reinforcing its base in Gran Canaria and launching a new seasonal base in Tenerife. From these hubs, airBaltic will introduce multiple new connections, including routes to Poland (from Gran Canaria to Katowice and Poznan), Slovenia (Tenerife–Ljubljana), Lithuania (Tenerife–Palanga), and Belgium. Notably, both islands will be linked to Liège Airport with twice-weekly services.
In parallel, the airline is expanding into northern winter tourism by adding routes to Kuusamo, Finland, from its home base in Riga. Kuusamo will also serve as a weekend mini-hub, offering connections to major cities in Germany (Berlin and Hamburg) and the United Kingdom (Manchester and London Gatwick).
The strategy reflects a dual focus: catering to demand for sun destinations during winter months while also capitalising on interest in Nordic winter sports. Most routes will operate one to two times per week between late October 2026 and March 2027.
airBaltic continues to position itself as a modern and growing regional carrier, operating a fleet of Airbus A220-300 aircraft and expanding connectivity across Europe and beyond, now serving around 80 destinations.
