airBaltic transported 23% more passengers in April and reaches 59% market share in Riga

Latvian airline airBaltic in April 2019 has transported 412 682 passengers or 23% more than last year to its network spanning Europe, Scandinavia, Russia, CIS and the Middle East.

Martin Gauss, Chief Executive Officer of airBaltic: “As the first month of the summer season, April has brought very strong passenger numbers. It is the first month of 2019 during which we have improved our passenger numbers by over 20% compared to last year. Additionally, we have reached a new record in Riga, achieving a 59% market share.”

During April 2019, airBaltic has operated 5 335 flights or 13% more than in April 2018. The 15-minute flight punctuality indicator for airBaltic during April 2019 reached a level of 91.0%. This means that 91 out of every 100 airBaltic flights departed at the planned time or with a delay of no more than 15 minutes.

airBaltic serves over 70 destinations from Riga, Tallinn and Vilnius, offering the largest variety of destinations and convenient connections via Riga to its network spanning Europe, Scandinavia, the CIS and the Middle East. In summer season 2019, airBaltic has launched new destinations from Riga to Dublin, Stuttgart and Lviv as well as to Kos and Menorca.
