Latvian carrier airBaltic carried 466,500 passengers in May 2026, a 2% increase compared with the same month last year and the highest May passenger total in the airline’s history.
The airline operated 4,407 flights during the month, up 3.4% year-on-year. Load factor remained broadly stable at 77.8%, only 0.7 percentage points lower than in May 2025 despite the increase in capacity.
The strong performance continues a positive trend throughout 2026. During the first five months of the year, airBaltic transported 1.95 million passengers, a 4.5% increase compared with the January–May period of 2025. Flight operations also grew by 4.7% to 19,100 flights, marking the airline’s best-ever start to a year.
The latest figures build on a record 2025, when airBaltic carried 5.2 million passengers and operated 48,300 flights, both the highest annual totals in its history.
Celebrating three decades of operations, airBaltic now serves around 80 destinations across Europe and beyond, reinforcing its role as a key provider of connectivity for the Baltic region.
