airBaltic names nearly 30 Airbus A220-300 aircraft after Baltic cities

Share

airBaltic has continued its initiative to name its Airbus A220-300 fleet after cities across Latvia, Estonia, and Lithuania, following a public contest held in 2024 to mark the 35th anniversary of the Baltic Way.

Since August 2025, nearly 30 aircraft have been named, including all three Baltic capitals, with liveries featuring national flag colours. The project highlights local heritage, promotes regional tourism, and strengthens the Baltic identity worldwide.

So far, 28 aircraft carry city names—10 Latvian, 9 Estonian, and 9 Lithuanian—while the remaining 20 cities will be assigned in the future. Each aircraft serves as a “flying ambassador” across airBaltic’s 80+ destinations in Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and the Caucasus.
