airBaltic celebrated its 30th anniversary with a unique Riga–Stockholm flight turned into a live concert, featuring a surprise performance by the acclaimed Latvian choir MASKA. The event made history as Europe’s first in-flight choir performance streamed live using Starlink internet, and was broadcast on Latvian Television.

The celebratory flight BT101 retraced the airline’s first-ever commercial route, operated exactly 30 years earlier, but this time on a modern Airbus A220-300 with special Latvian flag livery (YL-CSL).

The choir performed Vindo, a song blending Nordic cultural tones, symbolising connection and harmony—values central to airBaltic’s identity.

Interim CEO Pauls Calitis highlighted the airline’s growth from a single Saab 340 to a fleet of 50 Airbus jets and its role as the leading carrier in the Baltics, linking the region to over 80 destinations.

To commemorate the milestone, airBaltic launched a special website (30years.airbaltic.com) showcasing its history, special liveries, and “30 Stories for 30 Years” — personal memories from passengers and staff.

Founded in 1995, airBaltic has carried over 65 million passengers on more than one million flights, connecting the Baltics, Tampere, and seasonal destinations like Gran Canaria with Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and the Caucasus.
