airBaltic has inaugurated a new direct route between Gran Canaria (Spain) and Molde (Norway), further expanding its growing winter network from the Canary Islands. The weekly service, operated on Wednesdays until early April 2026, connects airBaltic’s seasonal base in Gran Canaria with the scenic Norwegian city in under six hours.
“The new route is expected to attract more Norwegian tourists seeking sunshine during the winter months, while also giving residents of Gran Canaria the chance to experience Norway’s spectacular natural landscapes,” said Thomas Ramdahl, Chief Commercial Officer at airBaltic. “We thank our partners in Gran Canaria for supporting this expansion, which enhances the island’s connectivity to Europe.”
Flights are operated with the Airbus A220-300, offering passengers a modern travel experience with spacious seating, large windows, generous cabin storage, and free high-speed SpaceX Starlink Wi-Fi—a first among European airlines.
This winter, airBaltic will operate seven routes from Gran Canaria to Billund, Ljubljana, Molde, Oslo Torp, Riga, Tallinn, and Vilnius, strengthening links between the island, the Baltics, and Northern Europe.
Since launching flights to Barcelona in 2005, airBaltic has steadily expanded its Spanish network to eight destinations, establishing Gran Canaria as a key seasonal base and reinforcing Spain’s importance as one of the airline’s major markets.
