airBaltic launches first-ever direct flights from Tallinn to Madeira

Share

airBaltic has inaugurated a new direct route between Tallinn and Madeira (FNC), marking the first-ever nonstop connection between Estonia and the Portuguese island. The service operates once weekly on Sundays through March 28, 2026, with a flight time of just over six hours.

“Madeira stands out as one of Europe’s most unique and scenic island destinations, and we are delighted to make it directly accessible from Tallinn for the first time,” said Mantas Vrubliauskas, airBaltic’s VP of Network Management. “This new route offers Estonian travelers a distinctive winter escape combining nature, adventure, and mild climate.”

The Madeira route joins airBaltic’s growing winter leisure portfolio, which includes Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Malaga, Nice, and Barcelona.

Additional winter updates from Tallinn:

  • Tallinn–Amsterdam: increased to 14 weekly flights
  • Tallinn–Dubai (via Riga): 6 flights per week
  • Continued services to Salzburg, Geneva, and Munich for ski season travellers

With these network expansions, airBaltic strengthens its leadership in the Baltic market and supports both outbound leisure travel and inbound tourism to Estonia.
