airBaltic has taken delivery of its third Airbus A220-300 of 2026, further strengthening its single-type fleet strategy. The aircraft, registered YL-BTE, arrived in Riga and will be deployed across the airline’s European and regional network, as well as on ACMI leasing operations.
The addition supports airBaltic’s flexible capacity model, allowing it to adjust supply to seasonal demand while maintaining high fleet utilisation. Since introducing the A220-300 in 2016, the carrier has transported around 24.4 million passengers, operating 253,000 flights and accumulating 559,000 flight hours with the type.
The A220-300 remains central to the airline’s operational and environmental strategy. The aircraft offers enhanced passenger comfort, including wider seats and larger windows, while delivering lower noise levels and reduced emissions compared to previous-generation jets.
airBaltic has also positioned itself at the forefront of onboard connectivity. In 2025, it became the first European airline to introduce free high-speed internet powered by SpaceX’s Starlink, with more than half of its fleet now equipped and further installations underway.
Marking three decades of operations, airBaltic now connects the Baltic region to around 80 destinations across Europe, the Middle East, North Africa and the Caucasus, reinforcing its role as a key regional carrier.
