airBaltic has taken delivery of its fourth Airbus A220-300 of 2026, further strengthening its single-type fleet strategy. The aircraft, registered YL-BTF, has joined the airline’s base in Riga.
The A220-300 remains the backbone of airBaltic’s operations, serving both its own network and ACMI partnerships across Europe. This flexible deployment allows the airline to adjust capacity based on seasonal demand efficiently.
Since introducing the A220-300 in 2016, airBaltic has carried approximately 24.4 million passengers, completed approximately 253,000 flights, and accumulated over 559,000 flight hours—highlighting the aircraft’s versatility on short- and medium-haul routes.
The aircraft offers enhanced passenger comfort, including wider seats, larger windows, and increased cabin space, while also delivering lower noise and reduced emissions compared to older-generation jets.
airBaltic has also been at the forefront of onboard connectivity, becoming the first European airline to introduce free high-speed SpaceX Starlink internet in 2025, now available on more than half of its fleet.
Today, airBaltic connects the Baltic region to around 80 destinations across Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, and the Caucasus, reinforcing its role as a key regional carrier.
