AIR UNIQON has launched a new domestic route connecting Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) with Friedrichshafen on Lake Constance, re-establishing a direct air link between the German capital region and one of southern Germany’s key economic and industrial hubs after a decade-long absence.
The service operates four times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and is primarily tailored to business travellers. Flights are operated by Avanti Air using 78-seat Bombardier Dash 8-400 aircraft, with a flight time of around 90 minutes.
Founded in 2025 at Friedrichshafen Airport with backing from the regional business community, AIR UNIQON operates as a virtual airline, focusing on selected point-to-point domestic routes from regional airports. The flight schedule has been designed in close coordination with local companies, offering early morning and late evening departures to support same-day business travel as well as short leisure trips.
Airport and airline executives highlighted the strategic importance of the connection, citing improved access between the capital region and the export-oriented Lake Constance economy, as well as benefits for business travellers, commuters and tourists on both sides.
