On 2 November, this five-month-old Air Transat Airbus A321neo (registered C-GOIR) took substantial damage to her nose at the airport of Vancouver, Canada.
On the incident, a spokesperson of the airline said: “On Wednesday, November 2, 2022, a technical incident involving an Air Transat aircraft occurred at Vancouver International Airport (YVR) where a tow bar broke as the aircraft was pushed back from the gate. Passengers were disembarked and booked on another flight. Following the required inspection, the aircraft was towed to an overnight parking and a second incident occurred where the aircraft collided with the tug, causing damages to the aircraft. No passengers were onboard at that point. Both incidents are under investigation.”
The aircraft has been grounded since, and is facing a lengthy repair.
