Air Transat has launched the first-ever direct flights between London Gatwick Airport and Ottawa, expanding the airport’s long-haul network to Canada.
The new seasonal service began on Friday 15 May 2026 and will operate three times weekly until 23 October 2026. Flights run on Sundays, Tuesdays and Fridays, with a flight time of approximately 7 hours and 15 minutes.
Departures leave London Gatwick at 09:40 and arrive in Ottawa at 12:40 local time, while return flights depart Ottawa at 19:40 and land back in the UK the following morning at 07:55. The flights are operated by an Airbus A321LR.
The route also benefits from Air Transat’s partnership with Porter Airlines, allowing onward connections from Ottawa to destinations across Canada and selected cities in the United States.
London Gatwick said the new service strengthens links between the UK and Canada and forms part of the airport’s wider summer schedule, which includes nearly 230 destinations and 56 long-haul routes across North America, the Caribbean, Africa and Asia.
