Air Serbia has confirmed further growth on the Spanish market with the launch of direct flights between Belgrade and Alicante, starting 1 June 2026. The new service becomes the airline’s eighth destination in Spain and will operate twice weekly, on Mondays and Fridays, using Airbus A320 family aircraft, with the option to extend the season.
Tickets for Alicante are available for sale from today. The route strengthens Air Serbia’s already extensive Spanish network, which includes Madrid, Barcelona, Malaga, Seville, Valencia, Palma de Mallorca, and Tenerife, underlining the carrier’s leading position among regional airlines serving Spain.
The addition of Alicante reflects Air Serbia’s continued focus on demand-driven network development and sustainable growth. Passengers on the new route will benefit from the national carrier’s full-service offering, combining higher comfort levels than low-cost alternatives with a competitive price-to-quality ratio. Strong connectivity via Belgrade also allows for efficient onward transfers across Europe and the wider region.
Commenting on the launch, Boško Rupic, General Manager Commercial and Strategy at Air Serbia, said the decision followed a detailed analysis of market demand and comparable route performance, confirming the airline’s strategy of expanding its presence in fast-growing European markets while increasing choice for passengers.
Located on Spain’s southeastern coast, Alicante is the gateway to the Costa Blanca, offering easy access to popular destinations such as Benidorm, Altea, and Elche. With its sandy beaches, mild Mediterranean climate, and well-developed tourist infrastructure, the region is among Spain’s most sought-after summer destinations.
