Air Serbia expands partnership with airBaltic through two-year Airbus A220 wet lease agreement

Share

Air Serbia and airBaltic have announced an expansion of their cooperation with a two-year wet lease agreement, under which airBaltic will operate Airbus A220-300 aircraft on behalf of Air Serbia.

Starting 1 November 2025, two A220-300s will be deployed during the winter season, increasing to four aircraft for the summer 2026 schedule. Each aircraft offers 148 seats, delivering enhanced comfort and efficiency for passengers as Air Serbia continues to modernise its fleet and expand its European network.

“We are very pleased to continue developing our cooperation with airBaltic, one of Europe’s most innovative airlines and our long-time codeshare partner,” said Ji?í Marek, CEO of Air Serbia. “Introducing the A220-300 into our operations marks another step forward in enhancing the passenger experience and shaping our future fleet strategy.”

Thomas Ramdahl, CCO of airBaltic, added: “This agreement builds on more than a decade of successful cooperation between our airlines. The ACMI model allows both partners to optimize fleet use and ensure operational reliability while bringing the comfort and performance of the A220 to more passengers.”

The Airbus A220-300, known for its quiet cabin, fuel efficiency, and advanced technology, will serve as a reference model for Air Serbia’s future fleet decisions as the airline pursues its long-term growth and modernisation strategy.
