Air Samarkand Airbus A330 arrives in Tel Aviv

Air Samarkand has officially launched direct scheduled flights between Samarkand, Uzbekistan, and Tel Aviv, Israel, marking its first regular service to Israel. The inaugural flight took off on Sunday, 4 May, using a modern Airbus A330 aircraft, with passengers welcomed by special celebrations at both airports.

Due to strong demand from tourists, pilgrims, and business travellers, the airline has announced a second weekly round-trip service starting this July. Flights will operate every Sunday and Thursday, using either the Airbus A330 (313 seats) or A321 (194 seats), depending on demand.

“This new connection is an important step in strengthening ties between Uzbekistan and Israel,” said Zafar Butayev, CEO of Air Samarkand. “We’re pleased to offer a reliable, convenient, and competitive option for travellers between these two historic cities.”

The new route supports growing economic and cultural cooperation between the two nations and enhances travel access to key destinations. Tel Aviv offers visitors a vibrant mix of beaches, culture, and proximity to Israel’s religious landmarks. Samarkand, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Silk Road jewel, is rapidly modernising and attracting global interest.

Air Samarkand continues to expand its international network, having launched scheduled routes in 2024 to Istanbul, Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Jeddah, Medina, Nha Trang, Phú Quoc, and Sharm el-Sheikh. Charter operations have also reached cities such as Delhi, Dubai, and Tbilisi.

Tickets and package tours are available via airsamarkand.com, EasyBooking, and through Air Samarkand’s official Israeli partner, Asia Travel Israel (asiatravel.co.il).
