Air Malta is stepping in to help Thomas Cook’s stranded passengers in various countries following the announcement that the British global travel group has ceased trading, cancelled all its flights and suspended its operations.
To minimise inconveniences to stranded passengers and assist the efforts being made by the UK’s Civil Aviation Authority, Air Malta has issued a rescue fare of Euro50 per sector available on its flights to/from Amsterdam, Brussels, Birmingham, London Heathrow, Gatwick and Southend, Berlin, Bristol, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Leipzig, Munich, Paris Orly and Charles De Gaulle, Marseille, Lyon, Milan, Rome, Geneva, Zurich, and Vienna. This price excludes taxes and charges. Tickets are offered on an availability basis and are available only to Thomas Cook’s flight ticket holders or package holiday vouchers.
The Maltese Airline is also exploring other initiatives to help affected passengers in this unfortunate circumstance. Bookings can be made through Air Malta’s call centre on +356 21662211 from tomorrow 24th September till Tuesday 15th October with travel open until the end of October 2019.
Wizz Air (including Wizz Air UK) announces special fares for Thomas Cook customers whose flights between Larnaca and Paphos, Cyprus and the UK were cancelled following Thomas Cook’s insolvency.
Affected Thomas Cook passengers can take advantage of a special fare with Wizz Air, which operates daily flights between London Luton and the southern Cyprian city of Larnaca. The rescue fare is for travel up to 30 November 2019 and is subject to availability on each flight. Bookings can be made via Wizz Air’s special rescue fare site at https://wizzair.com/#/rescue. Customers will need to provide evidence of their bookings with Thomas Cook from any point in the UK to any point in Cyprus or the other way around.

WIZZ has over 10.5 million seats on sale on its UK routes in 2019, which represents a 23% year on year growth. The airline connects the UK with the rest of Europe on 106 routes to 30 countries.
