Air Malta launches twice-weekly flights to Berlin Tegel

Soak up the sun in Malta

The rumour persisted for a long time that there were no sandy beaches in Malta. From now on, you can find out for yourself that this is not the case: Air Malta now operates between Berlin-Tegel and Malta Airport twice a week. It flies to the small Mediterranean island between Sicily and the North African coast on Wednesdays and Sundays. Malta consists not only of one, but three inhabited islands: the main island Malta, Gozo and Comino. Airbus A320-200 aircraft will be used for the flight which lasts just under three hours. Thanks to its excellent location in the Mediterranean Sea, the island state is also an ideal travel destination for the cold winter months.

Whereas it is cold and dark in this country during winter, the summer is endless in Malta. With an average of seven hours of sunshine per day and temperatures of around 20°C, Malta is a great place to spend the winter. The wintry water temperatures of about 17°C attract first and foremost divers to the Maltese islands (the best diving spot in the region is the “Blue Hole” on Gozo). However, Malta also has a lot to offer for everyone else: how about a bike tour along its kilometres of coastline or an exploration trip with a rented boat to discover the most beautiful bays and beaches? For those who prefer something less sporty, we recommend the romantic island capital Valletta. Its small size means you can explore many of its sights in one day. Whatever you decide, Malta is a sun-soaked destination, even in winter.
