Air Italy official carrier of Gelato Festival 2019


A unique and customized Air Italy Ice Cream to be unveiled during multi-stop festival across the United States and Italy

Air Italy is pleased to announce its partnership as the Official Carrier of Gelato Festival 2019 – the gelato tour that takes place throughout Europe and America each summer to present one of the most iconic Italian products, artisan gelato.

Launching the 2019 festival in Miami on March 16 and 17 – to which Air Italy has direct flights from Milan Malpensa five times a week – Gelato Festival 2019 will also be supported by Air Italy in the American stages of Washington D.C. and Los Angeles as the best master gelato chefs gather to unveil their latest and most tempting creations.

In addition, bringing its own distinct element to the tour for 2019, Air Italy will be offering at its stand, a unique and customized Air Italy flavour, created by one of the touring master gelato makers available during all stages of the festival for the thousands of guests who wish to sample it at Gelato Festival 2019.

Air Italy will also accompany the Gelato Festival 2019 through all the Italian stages in Florence, Rome, Turin and Milan, scheduled between April and May.

Now in its 10th edition, the Gelato Festival has so far involved thousands of gelato makers on three continents and – thanks to the launch of the Gelato Festival World Ranking, with the aim to map about 100,000 gelateria worldwide – produced dozens of tonnes of gelato in Italian, European and American cities to delight hundreds of thousands of visitors.

The chefs have a rigorous selection process to reach the final of the Gelato Festival World Masters 2021, when the best 36 competitors from all over the world will compete for the Champion title. The tournament represents a strategic positioning project for gelato and its supply chain, capable of generating a +15% stake in the sector and a global average value for Made in Italy of 50 million euros.

As Air Italy develops its global network and in particular expands its North America network this year with the launch of new direct flights to Los Angeles (April 3), San Francisco (April 10) and Toronto in Canada (May 6), partnering with the Gelato Festival 2019 is the ideal way to promote these new routes while introducing the North American audience to one of Italy’s most famous creations.

Serving all of its long-haul routes with its new A330-200 aircraft, Air Italy offers up to 24 seats in the exclusive Business Class cabin making it possible to fly with maximum comfort in fully lie-flat seats with signature Italian cuisine accompanied by a selection of champagnes and Italian fine wines, Wi-Fi service, an extensive inflight entertainment service, the personalised attention from its onboard staff, and Italian made gelato.
