Air Italy announces the launch today of its first direct flights to the Canadian city of Toronto, becoming the airline’s fifth new North American destination served from its Milan Malpensa hub.
Air Italy’s first route to Canada will be operated six times weekly (daily except Thursday) seasonally until October 25th between Milan Malpensa and Toronto, the Capital city of the Province of Ontario.
Served with Air Italy’s Airbus A330-200, offering 24 fully flatbed seats in Business Class and 228 seats in Economy Class, the new route is the third new service planned for 2019 after the launch of new flights from Milan Malpensa to Los Angeles and San Francisco on April 3 and April 10 respectively.
Speaking at the inaugural celebrations at Malpensa, Air Italy Chief Operating Officer, Rossen Dimitrov, said: “Toronto is an extremely welcome addition to the Air Italy route map and clearly reflects the importance of the North American market to us. There is enormous potential in extending our reach to Canada, thanks to its economic relevance, strong global relations and very large Italian expatriate community.
“Toronto and Milan are also twin cities and these cosmopolitan and multicultural cities are both important centres for trade and investment, as well as being major cultural centres. Clearly, therefore, we expect a high volume of business and leisure trade in the fashion, food and culture sectors thanks to our new Milan-Toronto service in both directions.
“Moreover, Air Italy connects seamlessly with seven key Italian cities (Rome, Naples, Palermo, Catania, Lamezia Terme, Olbia and Cagliari) from its Milan Malpensa hub, which are all top destinations for summer tourism thanks to wonderful locations such as Capri and Sorrento, Taormina and the Greek Temples in Agrigento, the white beaches of Sardinia and the amazing landscape of Calabria.”
Business Class customers on board the new Milan-Toronto service will also be able to enjoy Air Italy’s completely new onboard business product that was revealed just this month on the first Milan-Los Angeles flight.
Featuring entirely new tableware, in-flight dining menus, cutlery and chinaware that have all been specially crafted to meet travellers’ expectations, Air Italy’s Business Class passengers will also enjoy an even more elevated experience thanks to the introduction of a dining-on-demand service.
“Complementing our new product, we have our new dine-on-demand service, meaning our Business Class customers can select from our extensive à la carte menu at any time, and in any order, to create their own unique dining experience – all of which delivers yet again on our brand promise as we help our customers to – Imagine The World Differently,” added Mr Dimitrov.
Air Italy’s customers can also take advantage of the Wi-Fi service, extensive inflight entertainment service and the personalized attention of the onboard staff.
